Vertical reciprocating conveyors

American-made VRC material lifts built for your application

CIP builds vertical reciprocating conveyors for industrial facilities that need to move materials between levels. If you are planning a VRC, mezzanine lift, cargo or freight lift, or material-handling lift, we will help you identify the right series and configuration for the load and the building. Tell us what you need to move, how much it weighs, how far it needs to travel, and how it will enter and leave the carriage.

Start with the application

Four details help us size your VRC

You do not need to choose a model before contacting CIP. Start with the load, the available space, and the way material needs to move through the facility.

01

Load capacity

500lbs to 30,000lbs

What is the heaviest material load, including its pallet, cart, or container?

02

Carriage size

3' x 3' up to 30' x 30'

What are the length, width, and height of the largest load?

03

Travel and landings

16ft up to 36ft

How far must the carriage travel, and how many levels will it serve?

04

Loading pattern

Most Common: C, Z, pass-through, or 90°

Where will material enter and leave the carriage?

Industrial material movement

One VRC category. Several ways facilities search for it.

The equipment may be called a vertical conveyor, mezzanine lift, freight lift, or material-handling lift. CIP starts with the application and configures the VRC around the load and facility.

VRC and vertical conveyor systems

Move materials between two or more levels with equipment built for industrial, material-only use.

Mezzanine lifts

Send pallets, carts, inventory, and supplies between a floor and a mezzanine or upper level.

Cargo and freight lifts

Move palletized freight, cases, equipment, and oversized material loads between levels.

Warehouse and factory material lifts

Connect production, storage, and distribution areas where vertical material movement is part of the daily workflow.

MATERIALS ONLY

VRC systems designed under ANSI/ASME B20.1

ASME logo representing the ANSI/ASME B20.1 safety standard for conveyors

ANSI/ASME B20.1

Vertical reciprocating conveyors are designed to move materials, not people. CIP manufactures its VRC systems to meet ANSI/ASME B20.1 requirements for this equipment.

✓ Guarding: Guarding protects the lift area at each level.
✓ Interlocked gates: Interlocked gates control access while the carriage is moving.
✓ Pit or surface mounting: A pit can create a flush lower-level entrance. Surface mounting is also available when a pit is not practical.
