Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician

This long-established material handling equipment manufacturer and service provider is seeking Electro-Mechanical Field Service Specialist & Service personnel with strong electrical, mechanical, controls & repair skills and experience to commission and service a range of products used for vertical material lifting.

We have an opportunity for a career oriented and technically skilled individual with a solid hands-on background in the Industrial Electrical and Mechanical maintenance fields. While prior vertical material lifting equipment repair experience is not a requirement, acquired experience in the installation, service, inspection, repair, and maintenance of vertical material lifting equipment is valued and would be beneficial.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Traveling to customer sites, with some overnight travel, performing installation, troubleshooting and/or repair of equipment.
  • Providing hands-on technical assistance and customer support
  • Daily reporting to manager to update status and issues.
  • Provide technical support to customers over the phone

Skill/Technical Requirements:

  • Electrical/Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints and related technical documentation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Operate various equipment to include forklifts, drills, saws, portable welders, torches, etc.
  • Self-Motivated, Responsible, Diagnostic Skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel by air and/or auto for at least 5 hrs. at a time
  • No fear of heights
  • Repair work may be performed in various industrial environments that vary from site to site
  • Must be able to stand, climb, stoop, crawl and bend for extended periods of time

Lead Design Engineer

Custom Industrial Products, Inc. (CIP) is a leading manufacturer of Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRCs), safety gates and more.  We have been providing safe and reliable solutions to our customer’s vertical material handling needs across the U.S. and internationally for over 20 years.

Job Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Create and modify mechanical designs for custom-built vertical lifts and related accessories. 
  • Document corrections
  • Support product improvement for parts and processes
  • Produce customer drawings on a family of standard material lifts (VRCs)
  • Design modifications for customer or state/county/local requirements
  • Work effectively with the team – sales, manufacturing, fabrication & technical services
  • Preparing structural calculations
  • Creating design solutions for unique applications as presented by customers
  • Coordinate projects with customers and in-house personnel
  • Preparing drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Working within an ERP System 
  • Knowledge and experience welding is desirable
  • Steel fabrication knowledge required
  • Electrical experience a plus

Procurement/Inventory Specialist

Custom Industrial Products, Inc. (CIP) is a leading manufacturer of Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRCs), safety gates and more.  We have been providing safe and reliable solutions to our customer’s vertical material handling needs across the U.S. and internationally for over 20 years.

The Procurement Assistant works with vendors to schedule shipping and delivery times. They are present to receive any orders and verify that the correct items and amounts have been delivered. They then properly store the material.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule purchases and arrivals
  • Maintain inventory
  • Review and place purchase orders
  • Verify that product information, shipping information, cost and delivery dates are all correct before obtaining authorization to place an order
  • Support functions to find cost saving processes

Skills

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures
  • Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, excel
  • Good time management and organizational skills
